Choosing Recovery
It is a brave step to find your life at a crossroads and choose the path of healing. It is this path that is often the
least familiar, convenient, and comfortable. In this space of indecision, you may be hearing loudly all
the reasons why entering eating disorder treatment will not work. This voice of doubt can be as convincing as the most gifted attorney. Yet you realize that listening to this voice has been part of the problem all along. Part of you knows that opening yourself up to treatment is what you need and deserve. You deserve to live your life with greater fulfillment, no longer experiencing the destruction of Anorexia, Bulimia, or Binge-Eating Disorder. You deserve to feel free in your body, to feel loved in your relationships, to feel meaning in your work, to feel energized about being alive. You are exhausted and depleted from a disease that is cruel and misunderstood. It is time to choose recovery and give yourself the healing you deserve. There is a momentum now inside yourself urging you to connect with professionals who can assist you on the path of recovery. This momentum is your life force. Breathe this momentum in and choose to let it guide you from here forward.
